Classic Raisin Oatmeal Cookies

Raisin oatmeal cookies are one of the most popular cookies in America . This all-time favourite is easy to make and is a fun activity to do with kids.

Ingredients

3/4 cup (175 mL) butter or margarine softened
1 cup (250 mL) packed brown sugar
1/2 cup (125 mL) sugar
1/4 cup (50 mL) milk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon (5 mL) vanilla extract
1 cup (250 mL) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon (5 mL) ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon (2 mL) baking soda
1/4 teaspoon (1 mL) salt
3 cups (710 mL) quick or old-fashioned oats
1 cup (250 mL) Sun-Maid Natural Raisins
1 cup (250 mL) coarsely chopped walnuts

HEAT oven to 350 F (180 C).
BEAT butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, milk, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy.
COMBINE flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt.
ADD to butter mixture and mix well.
STIR in oats and raisins. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
BAKE 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets.
COOL on wire racks.

Makes 3 dozen cookies.
